Many, many thanks to Neil Harris who manfully ran the course with his GPS super watch and provided us with 2 great things - all the profile and google earth mappings below, and this wonderful quote.
Hope this is what you wanted – I ain’t doing it again! (and I will never do that steep green field out of Fleswick again, ugh! I confess I cursed you a little up that bit)
Beauty runners, you'll be delighted to learn that whilst you can look up this aforementioned steep green field, you don't have to run up it. Beast runners - bad luck! If you haven't guessed, it's the incline between 5 and 6 km.
The following pictures give a good indicator of both Beauty and the Beast. Remember that Beauty goes to Fleswick Bay and then returns back to the start. Beast stays with Beauty until Fleswick Bay but then runs up Neil's favourite hill and loops around (twice past the lighthouse) before returning home.
1) The profile of the course. See, it doesn't look that bad, does it?
2) Bird's eye view of the course. Wouldn't it be great to be a bird?
3) What a lovely seaside village!
4) Lots of lovely cliff side running
5) It looks divine!
